The Culture and Celebrations of Australia.
The culture and celebrations of Australians now is very different compared to what occurred, and the kinds of traits people followed in the past. In the past, when the British colonized our land, they were very racist towards people indigenous people of Australia. There are many different points of view of how the British colonized our land, and how the indigenous reacted to the colonization of Australia.
The British and the Indigenous people faced many conflicts because of their lack of understanding towards one another. Some of the conflicts were created based on the different languages between the two groups, the different
clothing, their skin type...etc. Moreover, when the British first landed in Fremantle, the indigenous saw them as a threat because the British were basically invading their land and using it without coming to an agreement. Furthermore the British kicked the indigenous out of Australia, and commenced building a life around Fremantle and Perth, and excluded the indigenous from everything, giving them no rights towards anything.
After the establishment of the Swan River colony, the British started to develop a new home. By doing this they increased the population of British in the area, and left the indigenous people to die, leaving the numbers of indigenous people to decrease. After a while, the British started to include the indigenous, giving them their rights, but some indigenous peoples didn't come to agree with what the British people had done, and kept to themselves.
Nowadays, there are still some indigenous people who remain separate, and prefer to live in bush areas. Some people today don't know the meaning towards the celebration of Australia day, and the huge, significant impact it had on Australia and many indigenous tribes.
