The River
The Swan River was first named the 'Swan River' by Willem de Vlamingh a Dutch captain, in 1697. It is now one of the main attractions when tourists visit Perth. Along with friendly members of the public, there is a range of native wildlife including the Black Swans which we will explain on the 'Black Swan' page. There are many events that happen around and at the Swan River. Like the Movies at Burswood attraction, where you can watch movies on a big screen outside, next to the river. There are also many hotels and accommodation to choose from if you are looking to stay near the River. Perth is located Latitude 31° 60'S - Longitude 115° 50' E, and about 4000km on road from Sydney.
